A sincere and very warm welcome to Royal Oak Primary School’s website.  Royal Oak School is a beautiful school with a history of over 75 years.  We enjoy a reputation for very good academic outcomes, a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and a committed and caring community dedicated to backing our school.

Our vision is to “Care, Respect, Empower", and we do! Our mission statement Creating opportunities for curious, critical thinkers who continue to learn and make a difference in their world” is also practiced and catered for in all school operations and events.

At Royal Oak Primary School we recruit and retain long-serving, highly effective staff who are committed to providing the very best outcomes for children. We are very proud of the calibre of our staff and the passion they show for teaching and learning and the Royal Oak community. We are an inclusive school with teams that really make a positive difference.

We have two teaching teams. Year 0 to 3 known as the Royal Acorns and Year 4 to 6 known as the Royal Oaks. We also have a strong support team working with our students who require special educational programmes. This is a feature of our inclusive school. In addition we provide English specialisation for children who speak English as their second language.

Children are provided with strong academic learning programmes with regular use of IT to challenge and extend, alongside a range of the Arts, Physical Education and Environmental Science programmes. Itinerant music teachers tutor instrumental music twice a week, a variety of sporting programmes are available and Te Reo is taught fortnightly to children from Year 2 and up. Fun and authentic learning are paramount in the programme planning.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.  Please view our online classrooms, enjoy our wonderful children, familiarise yourself with our staff and please feel free to make contact with us. We welcome your involvement in our school life.
